A rare high grown African coffee with a smooth buttery body, flavor nuances of Bing cherry, ginger, lime, and fruit cocktail, with a fragrant aroma, lively acidity, and a pleasant dry finish.
Grown on the slopes of Mount Killiminjaro in the Mbya region. The Mbya region consists of roughly 10,000 smallholder farmers that own, on average 500 trees each.
Many practice subsistence farming methods and all their coffee is handpicked.
Peaberry coffees are rare, as only 5% or less of crops develop the single peaberry bean inside the cherry with the concentrated flavor that the peaberries are known for. The rich fertile volcanic soil is lightly acidic, rich in nitrogen, potassium, and magnesium helps produce the rich lively acidity, and intense citrusy stone/fruit flavor profile that this coffee is known for.
